Scott R. Patton named to the Louisiana Mineral Law Institute Advisory Council
Patton Law Firm, LLC is proud to announce that firm Managing Member, Scott R. Patton, has recently been named to the Louisiana Mineral Law Institute Advisory Council. Mr. Patton joins a distinguished group of fellow mineral law practitioners, in-house counsel, and governmental representatives in directing the course of the Annual Mineral Law Institute at LSU, and advancing the goals of the institute through educational events focusing on the development of mineral law.
The Louisiana Mineral Law Institute was created in 1953 as an annual continuing legal education program. The goal of the Institute is to promote an understanding of the mineral law of Louisiana and neighboring states, and to facilitate the development of the law through educational activities. In addition to consideration of important developments in the law of oil and gas at the annual program, the Mineral Law Institute publishes a newsletter and sponsored the publication of a treatise on Louisiana Mineral Law.
